How to Remove Facial Moles That Are Large or Raised
If you are wondering how to remove facial moles when they are quite large or even raised, well, I can relate. I personally know how it is to have a large raised mole on my face. Make-up does not do enough to cover the facial mole up and if you are like me surgical removal is out because of the cost and possibility of scarring.
In my research on how to remove facial moles I aimed my attention at the large raised mole that was on my right upper lip. The mole was about the size of a pencil eraser, raise like a bump and had hair growing from it (not pretty). It wasn’t always this way, in fact, when I was young it was not a problem at all. There was a time in my life when I would have considered it a beauty mark.
I could have cared less how to remove facial moles back then. However, things changed when I got older and after my pregnancy. I have read research articles that state that a mole can grow due to hormonal changes. If I look back, it was after I reached puberty and headed into my teen years that I began to be self-conscious of my mole.
At the time I didn’t think anything could be done for a mole and went on with life, but then I became pregnant in my mid-twenties and the mole grew again. I became more and more self-conscious about the mole and this is when I started to research how to remove facial moles..
How to Remove Facial Moles – What Causes Moles to Grow in Size?
If you know anything about moles, you may be wondering if I was concerned that my mole was growing in size. Initially I was, however, I had read that hormones can cause a mole to grow or become raised and I also had a complete skin cancer check from a dermatologist about the same time I was looking into how to remove facial moles.
I highly recommend that you have any mole checked by a dermatologist or your medical doctor before following anything you read about how to remove facial moles. A growing mole or a mole that appears when you are an adult could be suspicious. It is not acceptable to try and remove a mole that is suspicious, pre-cancerous, or that contains cancer cells.
A mole on your face forms because specific cells called melanocytes put out a cluster of pigmentation. Normally, this pigment, called melanin, is evenly distributed throughout your skin, but in the case of a mole, the pigment becomes concentrated in one area.
I already mentioned that moles can grow in response to hormonal changes (puberty, pregnancy, menopause), but it is even more common for moles to grow due to sun exposure. This includes artificial sunlight such as repeated use of a tanning bed.
The sun can wreak havoc on your skin and cause moles to grow. It may also cause moles to change in appearance; this is sometimes referred to as a dysplastic mole.
A dysplastic mole looks abnormal. You may notice that it has uneven borders; has different colors where some of the mole is black, and other areas are tan or pinkish; or the mole may look like its color fades into your skin instead of having a nice clearly defined border.
You should note that these characteristics are also common in some cancerous moles and even though you can have a dysplastic mole without having cancer, it is a good idea to have any mole that concerns you checked by a dermatologist, especially before researching how to remove facial moles.
How to Remove Facial Moles – Methods
So this mole that is on your face is big and ugly and it might even have hairs that grow from it. It needs to go! There are a number of methods that can solve how to remove facial moles but each comes with its own concerns. Therefore, you should consider these points.
1. How to remove facial moles using surgery. Surgical removal can be effective and involves either shaving off the mole, freezing it, or burning it. The procedure is done in a day, but you will need to keep the wound covered for a few weeks to limit scarring.
This brings up a drawback – scarring. You have a greater risk of scarring with any method of removing a mole from your face that is quick. Also, because we are discussing large moles, it can be necessary to close the wound with stitches. This will lead to a scar and basically replace one blemish with another.
The cost is also a consideration. Surgical removal will run you a minimum of $200 per mole and additional lab analysis fees may push the cost of single mole removal up past the $500 mark. I should know, I had a mole surgically removed from my leg before I knew better and even after I negotiated the price down because I was paying out of pocket (my insurance refused to pay because they said it was cosmetic surgery) the price was over $300.
2. How to remove facial moles using laser surgery. Laser surgery will actually cost you more in most situations. However, cost is not even the main concern when looking at how to remove facial moles using lasers. The main concern is that lasers, while effective on the top layer of skin, are not able to penetrate into lower layers of skin. Because we are looking at how to remove facial moles that are large, a laser may not remove the entire mole.
3. How to remove facial moles using castor oil. For a large mole on your face, your best bet is to go with castor oil made into a paste and applied repeatedly.
Castor oil is the preferred non-surgical removal technique because, unlike other natural substances, castor oil has a low molecular mass. This allows castor oil to penetrate deep into lower layers of your skin and this allows you to completely get at a larger mole, right down to the lower layers of deeply pigmented skin.
Castor oil is used for many skin ailments and unlike other home remedies for moles that contain more abrasive acidic ingredients, castor oil will leave your skin feeling smooth and healthy.
What if you are afraid you will screw things up?
I know how it can be to worry about doing something wrong when removing a mole on your own, especially a mole on your face! If you want to get rid of your mole without worry you’ll need to learn a single method that works amazingly well.
This method is simple to pick up and it doesn’t take much work, you can read how to do it on my free site here: Facial Mole Removal

How to Get Rid of Skin Moles – And Why You Should
What we identify as moles includes three basic types.
Common Moles – usually brownish skin blemishes which may be raised from the skin or almost flat. They are more or less regular and symmetrical in shape, of the same color all over, and unless in a position where they get knocked or irritated by clothing, will not bleed or be painful. If they are red, blue or black, they may need more attention and grade into…
Pre-cancerous moles. They include dysplastic moles, which are usually flat, irregular in shape and of different colors. They are often quite dark in color, and like red, black or blue moles, should be checked by a doctor.
Melanomas. Melanomas are aggressive and dangerous skin cancers which often look like moles and may develop from them, often as a result of exposure to the sun over time. They may also develop on their own. If allowed to grow, they can spread to other parts of the body, causing other cancers. These secondary cancers are difficult to treat and are often fatal. Even more tragically, they frequently affect younger people.
There can be no argument that melanomas must be removed as soon as possible after they are suspected and identified. Any mole which is new, noticeably increasing in size over a period of weeks or months, is irregular in shape, shows variations in colour over it’s surface, or is sore or bleeds easily must be regarded as suspicious and should be checked out by a doctor, who will advise you about the most appropriate way to treat it.
Moles can also grow on parts of the body that you may have trouble seeing, such as on the scalp amongst your hair, or on the soles of your feet – in fact almost anywhere. Find someone to help you check these hard to see areas every so often – maybe you can do the same for them.
Mole Removal And Treatment
There is really only one form of treatment for melanomas or possibly cancerous moles – surgical removal. The mole will be cut out by a surgeon, together with some of the surrounding tissue. It will then be sent to a pathologist to determine whether cancerous cells are present, and whether they have all been removed.
This form of surgery will usually require one or more stitches, and will result in temporary scarring, but if you balance a short lived and not very obvious scar against the inevitably severe consequences of a melanoma, there’s not much to argue about.
This form of surgical removal is designed to totally get rid of any cancerous or pre-cancerous cells. Other surgical methods and creams cannot reliably achieve this. Fortunately surgical removal of suspicious moles is usually covered by health insurance.
But what of other moles which are not actually or potentially cancerous?
It’s quite OK to leave them alone (apart from regular inspections to make sure they are not changing into something more sinister), provided that they are not continually getting irritated by normal movement or rubbing against clothing.
But with the doubtful exception of “beauty spots”, moles are unwanted residents on your skin, and, if you are embarrassed or uncomfortable with them, or even if you’ve just had enough of them, there are many ways to remove moles that are much milder than the surgical cutting out of suspicious moles. Like most people, you will notice a huge lift in your self esteem and confidence once your moles are gone.
You have two main choices – surgical removal or home removal using various creams or homemade preparations.
Surgical removal includes minor cutting or shaving, laser surgery or freezing (cryosurgery). All need to be done in a doctor’s surgery, involve a little temporary pain, may require follow up visits, and are not cheap. Temporary scarring or a change in skin color may be experienced, and, unfortunately, the mole may return later. Surgical treatment of non-cancerous moles is regarded as a cosmetic procedure and is not usually covered by insurance.
Nevertheless, if you can afford it, and only have a few moles to remove, it is often the best option.
But, provided you are sure that your moles are not cancerous, there are also a number of mole removal methods you can use at home.
There are a number of mole removal creams which you can buy at your pharmacist or even department store. and all are suitable for home use. Most of these are based on herbs or plants which have a caustic or burning sap. In effect, the mole is dissolved or burnt away. Most of these creams are applied directly to the mole, left in place for about 20 minutes, and then washed off. The mole will dry up and, depending on size, drop off in a few days or weeks. These preparations must be used as directed on the labels, and they should only come in contact with the mole. Normal skin is affected even more than the mole, and bleeding and scarring can result if you are not careful.
Mole removal creams can be quite expensive, and some of them come in tiny quantities. Most of them do work, although more than one application may be required, and the mole may return.
There is one other home based alternative, which is inexpensive, safe, painless, and scar free, using natural materials that you can easily find at your local mall.

Common Questions About Mole Control & Removal
If I get rid of the moles in my yard, what about the moles in my neighbors yard?
Moles are a solitary and a very territorial animal. If your neighbor moved out of their house, you wouldn’t automatically move in, right? Of course not, because you have your own territory established, but at a later time, you might decide to expand your territory and buy their house and property. Moles operate the same way, they are always expanding their territory.
Can I ever be successful in getting rid of moles forever?
There are 2 ways I know of to get rid of moles forever but they both are not good methods. One is to pave over your entire yard and make it into a parking lot and the other is to kill every living organism in your yard that moles eat and the mole won’t find your yard attractive, but you won’t have much of a yard either. Getting rid of moles is a control effort.
Do moles ever come back?
Yes and no, Some yards may experience new moles coming back in as explained in the answer to the first question above. Other yards may have moles in them now, and once one has removed the problem moles, there may not be any more moles nearby that can expand to your yard. But there is not a product available to keep moles out for good, anyone who tells you differently just wants your money.
Why does everyone tell me to get rid of the grubs and I will get rid of my moles?
Grub control for mole control is the biggest myth out there. Out of all the yards we have and currently do service, about 80 percent of them never have grubs as they have either killed the grubs or didn’t have them to begin with. Moles are in the yard for earthworms, all factual studies on moles always come up with earthworms as the main diet of the mole. 85 Percent of their diet is earthworms. They are strictly an Insectivore. If you think about it, businesses can sell grub control but can’t sell earthworm control. No one would buy earthworm control as they are needed for the deep, natural aeration of your yard.
I must have over 100 moles in my yard right?
No, the typical acre averages between 3 to 5 moles. Moles are solitary by nature and extremely territorial. One mole can average 100 feet of digging new tunnels in 1 Day, 18 feet an hour when digging surface or deep tunnels, and can travel 80 feet a minute in tunnel already created.
Why do I have mounds of dirt in my yard?
As moles dig new horizontal, deeper tunnels, they need a place to put the dirt they are excavating. They bring this dirt to the surface. As they dig farther and farther, they make new mounds of dirt as the run gets longer. The bigger the mound, the deeper the moles tunnel is beneath the surface of the ground.
Why do all the poisons, home remedies, grub control, mole-tox, sound makers, vibration makers and other mole control devices not work?
Our answer to this question is simple, If all of these actually worked, we would not be in business. Ever heard the expression, cheaper is better? Not really is it, quality and factual knowledge beats cheap any day. Those things are there to hook the homeowner, not to solve your problem. Moles do not eat any form of grain or plant matter, they are strictly meat eaters. As to the sound, sonic, and vibrating devices designed to scare moles away, we have caught moles weekly fairly close to these types of devices.
I have never had moles until now, why are they in my yard?
As it has been said above, moles are solitary and territorial. When the female has babies and raises them til they are old enough to be on their own, she kicks them out, these “teen” moles now have to explore new areas and set up their own territories. As this process repeats itself, they will soon make it to your yard, especially if you might be in the middle of a new housing development.

What To Use for Home Remedies For Mole Removal
Home remedies for mole removal can be used in the convenience of your own home and work through the repeated application of a mildly corrosive product such as the juice of certain acidic fruits or more gentle compounds such as castor oil.
Home remedies for mole removal are appropriate for normal moles, which are basically small round or slightly oval areas of high pigment concentration. Home remedies for mole removal are not recommended for any mole that looks suspicious.
If you have a mole that contains a mix of colors (browns, tans, reds, pinks), has uneven borders, which look like they have chips cut out of their borders, or the borders seem to fade into the skin instead of having a crisp and distinct edge, then you should have this mole looked at by your medical doctor or a dermatologist before using any of the home remedies for removing a mole discussed below.
Home Remedies for Mole Removal vs. Surgical Mole Removal Pros and Cons
Home remedies for removing moles are gaining popularity for many reasons. First, they are an effective way to remove a mole from your body or a facial mole without a high price tag attached.
One of the most common medical procedures for removing a mole from your face or body is the shave or cut the mole using an out-patient surgical procedure. With this surgical treatment, the doctor applies a local anesthetic and then cuts the mole at its base. If the mole pigment extends into lower layers of the skin, it will be necessary for the doctor to remove these lower layers as well resulting in a larger wound.
Surgical shaving procedures will remove a mole, but the cost is much more than home remedies for mole removal. The typically range for surgery is from $200 to $400 per mole and most doctors will have the mole analyzed by a lab to evaluate the mole for the presence of cancer cells. This lab analysis can tack on an additional $100 or more.
Because taking off a mole is typically considered a cosmetic surgery, it is rare for surgical mole removal to be covered by insurance, so the expense comes out of your pocket.
Another consideration is the presence of a remaining scar that can occur with surgical removal. If the mole you are having removed is a large mole or has layers of pigment that extend into lower layers of your skin, more tissue will need to be removed along with the mole which could require stitches and result in a noticeable scar.
Home remedies for mole removal come with much less cost and much less risk of scarring. Cost is less because the active ingredient used for home remedies for mole removal are easy to find, with most found in your local grocery store.
I mention that the risk of scarring is less with home remedies for mole removal, yet, because the active ingredient used is typically an acid base, you must monitor the mole as it fades from your skin to prevent a residual scar or darkened area that could remain after the mole is removed. An easy way to lessen the risk is to first apply Vaseline to the healthy skin that surrounds the mole.
One disadvantage of home remedies for mole removal when compared with surgical removal is that the home remedies can take a longer time for the mole to completely fade. This could take up to a couple of months to remove a larger mole.
Ingredients used as Home Remedies for Mole Removal
While the FDA (Food and Drug Administration) in the United States will routinely evaluate drugs for treatment of skin conditions such as mole or wart removal, it is not as common for the FDA to approve home remedies for mole removal. Because of this fact, I encourage you to do your own research to the level where you feel comfortable.
What you are basically looking for concerning ingredients for mole removal is a mild acid. This can be found in the juice of different fruits such as a sour apple, pomegranate, pineapple, cauliflower, or onion.
The question you may be asking is, “how do you extract juice from an onion, or these other products.”
This is a valid question and you can typically find these products at a health food store. However, another option would be to use castor oil, which has a mild acidic active ingredient. This is easy to find in a local drug store or with the medications in your local grocery store.
An advantage of castor oil is that the FDA has approved the derivative of castor oil for over-the-counter treatment of common skin disorders and problems. This makes it a somewhat more practical and safe approach compared to other home remedies for mole removal.
Castor oil has many advantages, because of its low molecular mass it can penetrate deep into layers of the skin which may contain the dark pigment of the mole. It also leaves the skin soft and nicely conditioned due to its chemical makeup. This is why castor oil is an ingredient in many shampoos, lipsticks, and lip balms.
Ricinoleic acid in castor oil, which is a main component of the oil, is also said to have an anti-inflammatory effect.
Home Remedies for Mole Removal – The Bottom Line.
Regardless of whether you use an acid from the juice of a fruit or a gentler compound like castor oil, home remedies for mole removal can be effective.
Keep in mind that home remedies for mole removal can take a few weeks to completely fade the mole and repeated applications will be needed. Also, remember to check with your doctor to avoid using any home remedies for mole removal on a mole that looks suspicious.

Moles On the Skin and How To Get Rid Of Them
Moles on skin surfaces are very common and for many people they are not a problem. However, some people have hundreds of moles that cover their body or large moles on skin areas that are hard to hide such as the face or chest.
There are a number of ways to get rid of moles on the skin and your decision will be based on:
How much money you want to spend
The possibility of scarring
Time considerations
Safety
How much pain is involved in removing moles on skin
How are Moles on the Skin Formed?
Moles on the skin are typically benign (harmless) clusters of a pigment called melanin. You can have moles on your skin from birth, or develop them over time.
Sun affects moles significantly and may cause moles to look abnormal. These abnormal looking moles are termed dysplastic moles and opinions vary among researchers on whether or not these abnormal moles have an added risk of turning cancerous.
It is important to consult with a medical doctor or dermatologist prior to trying any method to get rid of moles on the skin.
Scarring When Getting Rid of Moles on the Skin
You must consider the possibility of scarring when removing moles on the skin and any method carries this risk. However, your risk is highest with surgical methods which remove the moles on the skin quickly. These abrupt removal methods cause more trauma to the skin and require more healing.
Natural remedies can get rid of mole on the skin with less damage; however, some home remedies use acidic juices and this can burn the skin if you do not follow the recommendations for application.
Cost of Getting Rid of Moles on the Skin
Cost is often a leading consideration for people interested in removing moles on the skin. If your mole is normal (non-cancerous), then removal will be considered “cosmetic” and will most likely not be covered by medical insurance.
Surgical removal of moles on the skin can cost between $200 to $400 per mole and additional costs may be added if the mole is sent to a lab for analysis after removal. This high cost can be a barrier, especially if you have many moles you want removed.
Home remedies use common ingredients that are easily found in your local grocery store or may already be found in your home. The cost is typically only a few dollars and multiple moles on skin surfaces can be removed.
Time Required to Have Moles on the Skin Removed
Surgical removal of moles on the skin can be completed in the doctor’s office using a local anesthetic. This procedure is completed in one day. However, the mole will need weeks to heal.
During the healing process, the mole will need to be cared for properly and this will likely include having the mole covered with a bandage to promote complete healing and lessen the degree of scarring.
Natural cures for getting rid of moles on the skin will take longer than a day, and if the mole is large and raised, removal of moles on the skin using natural ingredients could take up to a week or more.
A mole that is removed using natural cures will need to heal after removal. However, because less damage has been done to the skin, the healing should not take as long as more aggressive removal procedures such as surgery.
Is it Safe to Have Moles on the Skin Removed?
Most methods of removing moles on the skin are considered safe. Surgical removal is an invasive procedure and therefore carries with it the most risk. Surgical risks range from the possibility of infection, allergy to the local anesthetic used, or in rare cases damage to nerves in the area.
Natural methods of removing moles on the skin use mildly corrosive ingredients, which can be safely applied to the skin. The risk of injury using natural ingredients is highest in those who do not follow the recommendations for application of the natural cure.
Some people using natural remedies for removing moles on the skin will apply the substance too often or allow the substance to come in contact with normal skin surrounding the mole. This can lead to a burn and leave a scar.
Does Removing Moles on the Skin Hurt?
Some people are concerned about pain during mole removal or after the mole is removed. Surgical removal of moles on the skin is done under local anesthetic and the procedure itself is mostly pain-free. However, the area of skin that remains after the mole is cut from the skin will be an open wound and some pain can be expected during the healing process.
Natural removal of moles on the skin can be painful if the cure is applied too aggressively. If an acidic compound is used, some mild stinging can be expected and is normal. If the compound is applied too aggressively, a burning sensation may be felt. Backing down on the application of the natural remedy is usually enough to relieve pain.
Getting Rid of Moles on the Skin – Conclusion
You have many options for getting rid of moles on the skin. You can evaluate which method is best for you based on cost, scarring, time, safety, and pain.
Surgical removal of moles on the skin is fast and generally safe. But, a surgically removed mole will require healing time, have some pain, be more likely to scar, and could cost hundreds of dollars.
Natural removal of moles on the skin is generally safe and very inexpensive. Natural remedies will not get rid of a mole as fast as surgery, but healing time will be less, and the pain and risk of scarring are much lower.
Many people want to use naturally remedies to remove moles, but are afraid of screwing things up.
I know how it can be to worry about doing something wrong when removing a mole on your own, especially a mole on your face! If you want to get rid of your mole without worry you’ll need to learn a single method that works amazingly well.

Laser Mole Removal – Get Rid of Mole Without Scar
Laser mole removal is the most innovative way to remove moles today. This is a less invasive way to remove moles without surgery. It is the way to get rid of a mole that is not dangerous to the person who has the mole and is often used in cosmetic mole surgery. If you have a mole that is troubling you for cosmetic purposes, you are better off to opt for laser mole removal than surgical removal so that there is less of a chance of scaring.
Moles can be very unattractive, especially if they are on the face or in a prominent place. They may also make a person who has the mole feel unattractive and self conscious about their appearance. For this reason, may people opt for laser mole removal to get rid of these unwanted moles.
Most people have some moles on their body. They are different than freckles as they tend to be larger, darker and can also be disfiguring. Laser mole removal is best for those who have moles on their face that can affect a person’s life. Many people are born with these moles. Many parents will choose this method of removing mole for their children who are born with disfiguring moles, especially on their face. Years ago, there was not much that could be done for children born with these moles. They had to live with them because removing them by surgery would cause a scar.
Using laser mole removal causes less scaring and can rid the child of the mole without the scar. This can enable a child to lead a normal life.
Even adults who are bothered by moles can have them removed either in the office of their dermatologist or a plastic surgeon who can remove the mole using this new technology. It is non invasive and works much better than its predecessor which was only surgery. The only time that laser mole removal will not be used is if you have a mole that is suspicious for cancer. In such a case, you will most likely get a punch biopsy, which is still the gold standard of treating atypical moles. It is important to realize that most a typical moles are not cancer. Doctors, however, want to follow protocol and get a biopsy of the mole. This is unable to do when you undergo laser mole removal.
Laser mole removal is very safe and can be done right in the office of a dermatologist or plastic surgeon. Depending on the size of the mole, it may take a few treatments before the mole is completely removed and a little while for the site to heal. But heal it will. And you will not look like you had surgery.
If you want to get rid of a harmless mole, the best way to do so is through laser mole removal. You can have this performed easily in a dermatologist’s office or even in the office of a plastic surgeon. Learn more essential tips at http://moleremoval.faq-guide.com
